Empowering Clients With Adobe PDF Forms

When assigned to multiple projects or managing projects with a limited budget it is not a bad idea to give your clients editing power on the collateral you design. The question is, how to do that when your client does not know how to use design products like the Adobe Creative Suite? Here comes PDF Forms to the rescue! The work here was created in Illustrator and then processed in Acrobat. The design asked for a series of large size posters, 30×40 inches, to be customized as needed by the client to promote the work of their staff. Designing the poster is easy, giving the client editing power and making sure they don’t divert from the brand is another story. By adding form fields on top of the design via Acrobat PDF forms we were able to achieve all of our goals. The form fields were preformatted within the brand standards and all the client needed was the free Adobe Reader to customize each instance in the poster series.  We repeated the concept in other jobs including custom invitations, labels, postcards, and other print collateral. The cherry on top was getting on of those posters as a Christmas gift last year!
