The design idea on this cover was based on the pilots’ insignia, which cane seen in the spread version of the binder cover. Proposal binder covers require multiple versions, corresponding to different volumes, binder size sand uniquely numbered copies. KBR had as standard procedure to build those in Photoshop, but that required a lot of layer manipulation which cane a bother when one is trying to push the production of a proposal. So Proposed we moved the format to InDesign where we could use master pages to build the base and then edit instance of volume information or copy numbering on each page without having to worry about layer visibility and/or layer comps. Lately we see less of a need for binder covers as most proposals are being submitted electronically. However it is not uncommon for CVP to include a “fancy” title page to their electronic proposals. The concept remains the same: The graphics on the covers are prepared in Illustrator or Photoshop and then the layout is put together in InDesign.
